Salience Labs Limited and Keysight Technologies Collaborate to Develop First Optical Circuit Switch Testing Environment
In a significant step toward advancing AI data centre infrastructure, Salience Labs Limited and Keysight Technologies have announced a strategic collaboration to create the industry’s first dedicated Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) testing environment. The initiative is aimed at supporting next-generation networking architectures designed to handle the rapidly increasing demands of artificial intelligence workloads.
- As AI adoption continues to expand, data centres are facing mounting pressure to deliver higher performance, lower latency, and improved energy efficiency.
- According to insights from Bain & Company, AI is expected to account for nearly half of all data centre workloads by 2030, highlighting the need for more advanced networking technologies.
- The collaboration combines Key sight’s expertise in test and measurement solutions with Salience Labs’ high-performance silicon photonics-based all-optical switching platform. This platform includes the company’s recently introduced 32-port silicon photonic optical switch, designed to significantly reduce network latency while enhancing connectivity across rack-scale and multi-rack AI environments.
Through the new OCS testing environment, data centre operators, Hyperscaler, and technology developers will be able to analyse and validate optical switching technologies more effectively. The testing platform will demonstrate how improved interconnect capabilities can accelerate AI training and inference workloads while reducing power consumption and operational costs.
The joint solution will be showcased at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference, taking place in Los Angeles, where demonstrations will be held at Keysight’s Booth #1300.
By combining advanced photonics innovation with industry-leading testing capabilities, the collaboration aims to accelerate the development of scalable, high-performance networking solutions that will power the next generation of AI-driven data centres.
