Kulicke and Soffa Names Dr. Raj Talluri as New CEO, Signaling a New Leadership Chapter for Semiconductor Interconnect Innovation
A New Executive Direction for Advanced Semiconductor Packaging;
Kulicke and Soffa Industries, Inc. (K&S) is preparing for a new phase of leadership with the appointment of Dr. Raj Talluri as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective in upcoming months. Talluri was also elected to the company’s Board of Directors on August 17, marking a significant leadership transition for the semiconductor equipment and advanced interconnect solutions provider.
The appointment comes as semiconductor manufacturing continues to evolve toward increasingly sophisticated packaging architectures, higher interconnect density and more demanding performance requirements. Against this backdrop, K&S is positioning experienced semiconductor leadership at the center of its next stage of growth.
Dr. Talluri brings extensive experience spanning semiconductor technology, mobile platforms, advanced manufacturing and business leadership. Before joining K&S, he served as President and CEO and as a member of the Board of Directors at Enovix Corporation, an advanced battery technology company.
His semiconductor industry background includes a leadership role at Micron Technology, where he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Mobile Business Unit in previous years. Earlier in his career, Talluri held senior executive positions at Qualcomm CDMA Technologies and engineering and business leadership roles at Texas Instruments.
This combination of semiconductor, technology and executive experience gives the incoming CEO a broad perspective across chip technologies and the wider electronics ecosystem.
Leadership Transition Designed for Continuity
Talluri will succeed Lester A. Wong, who has been serving as interim CEO while continuing in his position as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Wong will remain K&S’s Executive Vice President and CFO, providing continuity as Talluri takes over the company’s executive leadership. K&S Chairman Peter T. Kong highlighted Wong’s role in maintaining momentum during the transition and expressed confidence in Talluri’s ability to lead the company into its next growth phase.
The structured transition allows K&S to combine new executive leadership with established financial and organizational continuity.
For the semiconductor industry, the leadership change comes at a time when advanced packaging and interconnect technologies are becoming increasingly important to overall chip performance and system integration.
K&S has built a portfolio focused on interconnect solutions and semiconductor assembly technologies, areas that are becoming increasingly critical as device architectures become more complex. The company’s capabilities are positioned across a semiconductor ecosystem where packaging precision, manufacturing efficiency and advanced interconnection are playing a growing role in enabling next-generation electronic products.
The next phase of K&S leadership will be closely watched for its impact on advanced packaging, interconnect innovation, semiconductor equipment development and global growth strategy. As chip architectures continue moving toward greater integration and performance density, the ability to deliver reliable and increasingly sophisticated interconnect solutions is expected to remain a key industry priority.
